A free-size 925 silver (rhodium-plated) ring featuring a raw tourmaline stone. It has deep purple lines running through it, making it bicolor. Because of its long, slender shape, it was made into a bar-type ring. Two holes were drilled, and fittings were inserted to secure the stone.
Tourmaline is the birthstone for October.
Most tourmaline used as gemstones is the green elbaite variety, but it can also form in many other colors. Deep red rubellite and blue indigolite are representative examples, and it is loved by many for its wide range of colors, including colorless, pink, red-purple, purple, and black. Among them, neon-blue Paraiba tourmaline from Brazil is rare and enjoys exceptional popularity and value. The striking watermelon tourmaline is also famous, forming layers with a red center and green edges. Its main sources include the USA, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Italy, southeastern Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Australia.
